Architectural Projects

As we have asserted in our mission statement, beauty is the ultimate goal of each project. This concept transcends every aspect of the project, not just the aesthetic. The plan, for example, will be beautiful if the layout of the spaces is efficient, maximizes the usefulness of the rooms and satisfies the client's needs.

There is also a beauty in the details and the choice of materials used in construction. As money is always a consideration in any project, it is our belief that the most important aspect of the budget is that the money is spent wisely. The choice to use durable, lasting, natural and inert materials will always add to the beauty and longevity of a building. Traditional Architecture Incorporated will always recommend materials such as slate, clay tile, cedar, copper and lead for roofs; brick, stone, and wood siding for building exteriors; wood, steel, lead and bronze for windows with true divided lights. Many imitation products exist today and their use will often save money in the short term. Ultimately, a choice for the best materials and design will prove a good long term investment.

Choice construction and elegant design will age gracefully, instead of becoming tired and dated. Good buildings will increase in value over time rather that depreciate. Also, there should be no frivolity to how money is spent. Ornament and decoration should be used sparingly in order to punctuate and highlight, not to be slathered over a building. There is an art to proper building, the appropriate use of the correct material for each application, the proper disbursement of water, and the tectonic logic of materials.
